Cute Little Babies!

Look at a handful of dried soup beans. They don’t look special, but inside them are baby plants just waiting to grow. Don’t believe me? Soak a few of the seeds for a day or two until the seed coats are soft. Split the beans open with your fingernail. Inside you can see a tiny seed embryo with leaves (the cotyledon) and even roots (the radicle). A magnifying glass makes the job easier.
